Responses to videos

We've seen three videos tonight:

- Did You Know
- The Machine is Using Us
- Introduction to the Book

What responses do you have to any or all of these videos, with respect to your future role as a campus principal or district administrator?

The video Introducing the Book was so funny. It was a little scarry in that perhaps that is where we are headed in technology.

It was really eye-openning! It is exciting to see how advanced we are becoming but disappointing to see the US is behind.

I really thought the video "Did You Know?" was very good and would really make my high schoolers think about their futures.

Anything we can do to get kids more excited about the world, about learning will be a great expenditure of time, energy, and/or resources!

The videos were interesting. The first one is an eye opener. I have always felt like I am playing catch-up with technology. This video shows that I always will. The last video is entertaining it shows how many of us feel about technology. Intimidated, confused, and sometimes angry

There are many benefits to technology. Unfortunately change within schools, with veteran teachers especially, is more challenging than walking on water.

I could see the technology being used for all curriculum and the textbook will be a thing of the past. It is vital to be up to date!

I want to show the district staff the "Did You Know" video. It was a bit overwhelming; a real eye-opener.
The "using us" video was too fast paced for this brain. I didn't have time to process the information. Unfortunately, this is most likely how students are aborbing input and information.

These movies really make you think. The first movie was so fast and full of information, my head is still spinning.

I thought the first video was really cool! It's almost frightening at how fast technology is moving. I like to think how it will be once my children grow up and enter society. The third video was very entertaining and that is often how I feel when I deal with technology. As I get into my profession as an administrator, these videos made me realize that the future is going to be digital and that I really need to keep up to date with the newest technologies available to me (or have a really good secretary!:)

The three videos were very thought-provoking. I am constantly amazed at what is available online, and the many ways to use it both educationally and for entertainment. The statistics from DID YOU KNOW are mind-boggling, and I wonder how as an administrator I can prepare my students for the unknown.

I feel that the "Introduction to the Book" video showed in a humorous way how something you might find to be very simple can be very complicated to someone else.

The first video was interesting to see what is going on around the world and in the future. It is a little scary to think that I am learning things in this class that will be outdated before I am a principal. I can relate to the last video as I'm sure many others can. I feel lost with some of the new technologies today.

It is wonderful to think how far we have came in the areas of technology and globalization. An to see that there is a learning curve to everything.

I love the did you know video. I think that there are teachers/princpals out there that are soooo out of date on what is going on in the world of technolgy. I belive that teachers need to buck up and learn all the advantages of technolgy and using them in the classroom. I would love to have a webpage with a blog for my class, but my school does not allow blogs with students.

I found the videos to be very enlightening and interesting. The first video we saw was a little scary. I hope that as future administrators we can keep up with the trends and continue to inspire children to learn.

How do you change with the world if our culture will not change its view of educational structure?

I am amazed at how technology has and will increase in our schools and lives.

I believe it is imperative that I become and continue be an administrator that makes technology and its potential uses in schools a priority.

How do you change the whole structure without total support?

It makes you think how schools can implement current technology when technology rapidly evolves and schools don't.
